Why don't I see SEED Impact on my DAF list?
SEED Impact is fiscally sponsored by the Tides Center. That means that Tides holds the 501(c)3 nonprofit status on behalf of SEED, like a parent organization. Searching the EIN 94-3213100 will display Tides. You can select Tides but be sure to designate your gift to "SEED Impact: Project 1057" in the notes or memo section.
Why do I need to take the extra step to notify Tides or SEED?
SEED Impact shares the finance office with over 130 other sponsored projects. Notifying both of us helps speed up matching your gift to us and expedites the impact of your investment.
How do I know my gift reached SEED Impact?
Following the notification steps is very important to matching your gift to SEED. Additionally, if you provide your contact information with the gift, we will reach out directly when your gift has been matched to us.
FAQ

Learn more about DAF Giving
Did you know…?
Charitable assets held in DAFs continue to increase year over year (10%), yet gifts from these funds remain steady at a steady 24% grantmaking rate.1
What does that mean?
More and more charitable dollars are being held in DAFs and not readily available to the movements that need them the most! One estimate indicates more than $160 billion is sitting in Donor Advised Funds right now.2 Another puts that figure as high as $250 billion!3
Imagine what a difference those funds could make to the causes you care about!
So, what can you do?
There is a growing movement to encourage funders to increase making grants from their DAF. Organizations like Half My DAF propose donors put their fund to work by spending down half of their portfolio. They even offer to provide a matching gift to eligible organizations with that pledge!
And, when you direct your DAF funds to SEED Impact, you’ll have an exponential impact on the causes you care about. Why? Capacity building grants for grassroots organizations are hard to come by. In fact, they are the hardest form of support for a leader to fund.
Yet, support, specifically in the areas of strategy, evaluation, communications, operations and fundraising4—hallmarks of SEED Impact’s work, are the most needed by smaller community based organizations, and particularly BIPOC leaders.
Strengthening these areas increases the ability of these leaders to attract additional resources.
Supporting capacity is supporting the cause.
